Personal Motto: Stay adaptable, keep learning, and always build with purpose.
Fourteen years is a significant milestone in any career, and for Aaron, it represents a journey of growth, adaptability, and continuous learning.
Since joining DK, Aaron has taken on a variety of responsibilities as the company and industry have evolved. Today, his role combines project management with software solution sales and marketing, allowing him to work closely with clients while helping identify practical solutions that support project success.
Unlike many professionals who follow a clearly mapped-out career path, Aaron’s journey developed naturally over time. By taking on different roles and adapting to changing industry demands, he gained valuable experience across different aspects of the business.
When asked what he enjoys most about his work, Aaron doesn’t point to a particular project or award. Instead, it is the opportunity to contribute to something tangible and lasting.
“It’s interesting to be involved in the building of places I’ve been to before and seeing how those projects come together.”
Having been with DK for over a decade, Aaron has experienced first-hand the culture that continues to define the team today. He describes it in three simple words: friendly, approachable and reliable. These qualities have helped create a collaborative environment where colleagues support one another and work towards the best outcomes for clients.
Even after 14 years, Aaron remains focused on personal and professional development. One skill he is currently working on is business negotiation, recognising the importance of effective communication and relationship-building in delivering successful outcomes.
Outside of work, Aaron values his downtime and enjoys taking the opportunity to disconnect from the day-to-day pace of the industry. One of his favourite hobbies is playing the guitar, and if he could instantly become an expert at anything, mastering the instrument would be his first choice.
When it’s time to unwind after a busy week, Aaron keeps things simple.
“Listening to music and drifting off is my favourite way to relax.”
Away from the office, Aaron’s adventurous side comes through in his dream travel destination. If given the opportunity, he would head straight to New Zealand, drawn by its spectacular natural scenery and the chance to experience one of the world’s most famous bungee jumps.
At home, Aaron is accompanied by his bunny, Bubbles, who has developed a rather amusing habit.
“He always turns his back to me.”
It may not sound very affectionate, but it certainly gives the team a good laugh.
One piece of advice that has stayed with Aaron throughout his career is:
“You won’t rise to your goals, you’ll fall to your systems.”
It’s a philosophy that reflects the principles of consistency, discipline and continuous improvement, values that have undoubtedly contributed to Aaron’s success over the past 14 years.
